Banking in India is not at all easy. It is super hard to make online purchases. I found one app I can use to buy train tickets and book hotel rooms using my PayPal account, but other than that, I have had zero luck with anything but cash purchases.
And my U.S. bank is not helping the cause at all either. I was going to open an Indian bank account, but they won’t let foreigners do that. I did get my trek paid for by depositing cash into the company’s bank account, but basically, I’m still at square one on the banking issue.
One would think in today’s technological advanced world, that online transactions would be a little easier than this.
But I guess this is what we might call a first world problem. I definitely feel very privileged when I see the levels of poverty here in India. I would like to help so many of the people, but there are so many hands out ... so many people with so many needs.
